About Us

St. John's is a voluntary controlled Church Of England primary school serving a mixed catchment area in the north of Worksop.

Opened on the present site in 1974, the school has recently undergone significant internal renovation (final phase was in 2007-08) to provide a super learning environment.
We have 14 individual classrooms, a large hall, a separate dining area, library and other small-group work areas.
Additionally, we have a fully equipped computer suite and the school computer network also allows ICT access to every room with all classrooms currently having interactive whiteboards.

Our grounds are all securely fenced and gated, with our new adventure trail, newly painted hard-play areas, grass, trees and various garden areas. We also have access to the adjacent sports field area on Raymoth Lane for games lessons, football matches and Sports Days. The new Children’s Centre and double synthetic sports pitches (The MUGA!) are available for our use during the school day, as well as being available for hire, out of school hours.

As a church ‘voluntary controlled’ school we have excellent links with the parish of Christchurch – we especially use their facilities for our annual Harvest and Christingle services.
